As per the WLUG charter, please note that there is a WLUG executive committee meeting one week from today. If you wish to get an item on the agenda for this meeting, please email it to secretary(a)wlug.org.nz. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Committee meeting, location yet to be decided. Agenda: followup to SFD, things we got right and need to do again, things we got wrong and need to improve on. Graham has made some excellent suggestions for how we can do the event next year which we should discuss. Desperate need to get more students involved in WLUG. The "annual" WlugSurvey needs to be done again.

I think its safe to say that the SFD was another sucess I've uploaded the photos i took here http://www.flickr.com/photos/wishes/sets/72157622284205669/ Let me know if there are any you want taken down at all or if you want a larger copy for whatever reason. I heard a fair bit of good feedback from several people, and also managed to get all the sponsors names out and about a fair bit. Anyone else got anything to contribute? Liz

Can anyone (or two or three) help to welcome people as they come in, get those interested to fill in a form to be in the draw for the USB sticks, answer queries, etc. Three people would be good at 10am to start, fewer needed later. Rod

Hey, Bruce and I are meeting at the hub tomorrow at 10 am to do the last minute scurrying about. We have this to do list: how many tables do we need? Get them network check projector and AV system for conference room coffee, etc print membership forms create/print eval/survey/prize entry forms (all one doc) round up some demo boxen ... other things we are forgetting? I think we should try to find a whiteboard, might be one wintec can let us use. So anyone interested to help, your invited to join us. Best, John

We have a really nice venue for Software Freedom Day this year, and we are trying to come up with ideas to best utilize it. So one of those ideas is to have a barcamp, where anyone can give a presentation on anything they are interested in. I've put up a page here to get things started: http://wlug.org.nz/SFDbarcamp If we don't fill up that page, you can always sign up the day of, or if you change your mind or something, we won't hold you to anything. It's basically an open mic kind of thing, as long as the talk is somehow related to FOSS. You can do slides if you want, we will have a projector.
