Are you sure this isn't just a case of the output from your graphics card not being correctly synced to the LCD output? EG, have you tried adjusting the display on the LCD itself to correct this? (most LCDs have an "auto" adjust feature which should do a pretty good job of it).

Otherwise, make sure you're actually setting the output to a resolution that is supported - preferably the native resolution - of the LCD screen.
