Seems like, for the last decade, way too many emails meant for .mil addresses have been going to .ml instead https://www.theregister.com/2023/07/18/us_military_mali_email_typos/. The guy who runs the .ml DNS registry for the Mali Government has been trying to notify the offenders about their mistakes, with limited success.

It seems to me an obvious solution is to stop using that top-level .mil, and change it to something like .mil.us instead.
