ADA (Aotearoa Digital Arts Network) warmly invite you to a public meetup
for networking, feedback and planning as well as to celebrate the
inaugural TKO monthly programme of artist-talks and events with support
from Cultivating Creative Capital theme committee, Te Herenga Waka
Victoria University of Wellington.
Around an open sandwich bar and round-table conversation, this meeting
is aimed at current and new members of ADA to discuss future and past
digital projects to gain a deeper understanding on local and national
activities and infrastructure from an artist perspective. Hear from
current members speaking to previous projects and share your ideas and
goals for local events to be developed.
Open Sandwich aims to gain insight and perspectives from the community
in order to enrich and expand the digital arts network in Te
Whanganui-a-Tara and the wider lower North Island region.
ADA is a network researching the expanded field around media, new media,
electronic and digital art. The ADA Network enables communication
between artists, curators, teachers, critics, theorists, writers and the
interested public. ADA develops public understanding of digital art
through its online forum, through publications and exhibitions, and by
touring speakers, holding master classes and symposia.

Responses in various media on otherness and us-ness by artists from diverse backgrounds which highlight the role of women, the feminine and gender, in Islam, including responses to Islamophobia. NAMES of ARTISTS to come

Call: Open call in any media for an exhibition which highlights the role of women, the feminine or gender in Islam, including responses to Islamophobia. Curated by Salama Moata McNamara and Sonja van Kerkhoff for an exhibition at NorthArt, Northcote, AKL in March 2020. There will be an accompanying public programme. Subject to funding transport costs will be covered or partially covered.
Works can be in any medium, old works or future works. Innovative interpretations of the themes are welcome as we hope some might use this as an opportunity to do some research on individual women of Islam or issues of gender or to deepen in issues or understandings in relation to Islam.
For digital works monitors, projectors, players, computers will be supplied. Works do not need to be framed. Works can be for sale. There is a gallery commission. There might be a publication: if so, some works might be included in this.
Email, your name, location of residence or studio, and either:
1. images of your work (jpgs or pdfs or links oline) with a brief description (less than half a page), stating media and dimensions.
2. Up to half a page description of a plan for a future work with up to two examples of previous work or a link to other work with an indication of the dimensions and media.
