Yup seconded. These two are doing some really interesting work which holds
the promises and pitfalls of 3d printing in tension, and taps into wider
issues of speculative futures, distributed production, intellectual
property, cultural appropriation, etc. If you can't make the workshop over
several days, theres also a couple other one-off events of a forum and
artist talk I believe.

time - but dropping across to attend part of the #additivism Workshop being
run as part of this residency.
They are both entertaining speakers and artists and I would recommend them

Morehshin Allahyari and Daniel Rourke
Morehshin Allahyari (@morehshin) Morehshin Allahyari is a new media
artist, art activist, educator, and occasional curator. She thinks about
technology as a philosophical toolset to reflect on objects; a poetic mean
to document the personal and collective lives we live and our struggles as
humans in the 21st century. Morehshin has been part of numerous exhibitions
and workshops around the world. Her work has been featured in Huffington
Post, NPR, VICE, Parkett Art Magazine, Rhizome, Hyperallergic, Art F City,
Creators Project, Dazed Digital, Neural Magazine, Global Voices Online, and
Al Jazeera among others. Morehshin is the Co-Founder of the Experimental
Research Lab at Pier9/Autodesk.
Daniel Rourke (@therourke) is a writer/artist and academic. His research
hijacks speculative and science fiction in search of a radical ‘outside’ to
the human(ities), including extensive writing on the intersection between
digital materiality and the arts. He is a feature and review writer for
, lecturer in Digital Media Arts at London
South Bank University, and associate lecturer for the History of Art,
Design and Film at Kingston University. Daniel will complete his PhD at
Goldsmiths, University of London, in early 2016.
