Below are details of a current senior lecturer vacancy at Wintec:
Post Graduate Supervisor and Senior Lecturer (#MA0404)
The School of Media Arts offers innovative, interdisciplinary programmes in
art, design, music, media, and screen production, with a growing reputation
for quality in teaching and research. We have a newly established Creative
Industries Research Centre, an established under-graduate and Honours
programme and have recently approved a Masters of Arts. We are seeking staff
with demonstrated professional and/or academic expertise who are seeking to
work in a dynamic educational environment.
We seek to appoint a senior academic staff member to make significant
contribution to academic and scholarly activity, supervision and research in
our programmes at undergraduate and Post Graduate levels.
The position requires a staff member with Doctoral level qualifications and
experience in post-graduate supervision at Masters level. A record of
established research practice and the ability to provide leadership in
professional development of the supervisory team is essential.
The School of Media Arts sits within the Faculty of Health, Arts and Social
sciences, which houses the Creative Industries Research Centre. The position
requires close liaison with both the centre and external agencies to develop
and monitor a strong and vibrant research culture. The school has an
established research track record which is supported by recent PBRF results.
The school has a robust undergraduate programme (Bachelor of Media Arts)
which addresses the fluid nature of the divisions between various domains of
arts practice: visual arts, communication and commercial music. Students are
encouraged to apply skills they have acquired in conventional practice, to
situations which cross disciplines. In doing so, students become able to
proceed intelligently in a variety of contexts.
We also offer generous leave and professional development provisions and
opportunities for postgraduate supervision.
We will consider part-time or full time applications. It is expected the
position will commence February 2005.
Applications close at 12 noon, Wednesday 26 January 2005.
