happy new year my aotearoan friends.
i hope you're enjoying some warmth over there. here in newcastle (.uk), the
air is frosty, but the skies are clear.
i'm following the parallel discussion strands about aotearoan new media
practices, here and on <empyre>, with interest.
thank you to all who have sent posts for your thoughts. i agree with danny
however, that it is a little sad/strange that this discussion is happening
in january, when everyone in new zealand is relaxing under a pohutakawa
tree, or snorkelling in leigh, or collecting shells in aramoana - in short,
trying to be as far away from email as possible ...
but well, those of us who are still tethered to our iBooks will get much
enjoyment out of this discussion.
there are a lot
of maori visual artists whose work incorporates digital,
also in the music
industry & vj ...

what is happening with veronica vaevae's work these days?
was there anythign aproximating 'new media' in 'iki and thanks for all the
ika' <http://www.artspace.org.nz/shows/04_02.htm> ?
andf on a tangent, i guess someone ought to mention 'dirty pixels' and
'electronic bodyscapes' on the <empyre> discussion ...
i'll see if i have some time later on.
greetings to you all.
