#4 in an ongoing series of experimental music nights.
Prepared field recordings and rhythm loops are processed and im/perfectly
re-arranged into songs. Additional live crackles, granular hums, clicks and
tones created with gadgets and laptop. Fragile sound narratives are mixed
with approximate fragments of structure and musicality, forming shifting
spatial density and mysterious geographies.
Is Simon Cummings. He avoids globular clusters as much as possible while
soldering budget components attained from surplustronics ...will often be
found in his natural habitat attempting to complete one million projects as
the uptight hobbyist/idle kiwi.
Is a freelance music journalist, curator and artist. His installations and
performances often hinge around everyday domestic objects, including radios,
toasters and typewriters, exploring a good-humoured interest in generating
improvised electrical soundscapes from humble sources.
He will be giving a solo rendition reprised from last year's Stamford Plaza
performance at the Version Festival. That means more modulating, hypnotic
drones from modified household alarm clocks.
