Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone on this list knows anything about the
inexpensive rapid prototype/CNC machines in kit form on the net
&ProdID=126 ; http://www.fabathome.org/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
Julian Priest told me about the http://reprap.org/bin/view/Main/WebHome
repap which can supposedly rebuild most of itself...or soon will. We were
think about building one of these machines; or perhaps building one could be
an elective at our school...
One reprap person I emailed said that the "RepRap machine is still very much
a research project. We're working on full self replication, but until we
achieve that it will be difficult to provide kits. I still encourage you to
participate in the project though." It looks like from their forums that
there are still formidable bugs to work out. The sugar machine is still in
progress and will have new version in "few months" according to an
"evilmadscientist" from candyfab.org
, but its resolution seems low at best.
looks the most promising, but I have not heard of anyone who has used it.
Does anyone know more about these or other inexpensive 3D printers?
