Xtra IT Ops staff have had information back from the
supplier of our SMTP
software on header rewriting, but are not sure the facility they talk about
will do what we want. They're going to do some experimenting to see what
can be achieved.
While you're about it Ted.....
MAIL FROM <someone>
MAIL TO TEDG(a)xtra.co.nz
MAIL TO TED.G(a)xtra.co.nz
If TED.G(a)xtra.co.nz is an alias of TEDG(a)xtra.co.nz then only one message is
placed in the box.
This is the biggest "complaint" we get for clients that have a single mail
box @ xtra with multiple email aliases.
Not that there is a standard way of handling the above, perhaps the setup @
Xtra should be different. Right now we are replicating messages before
forwarding to Xtra i.e. one recipient per message.
