I think it's reasonable for Internet users to
expect that data provided
for the sole purpose of permitting other users to access their web pages
or send them email is used for that purpose, and not for making them
targets of unsolicited marketing material or cold-calling salespeople.
I do not support the use of information for unlawful or unethical purposes.
But thats not the issue I raise.
Why create a policy and therefore an administrative structure to police it
when nobody has identified either a technical or privacy problem with the
present policy or having ns99.waikato.ac.nz allow zone transfers to any host
on the Internet.
