Subject: Re: cisco AS5200 with V.90 modems...
... Microcom vs MICA ...
Yes they are MICA modems. Somewhere in the dim dark past we had
Microcoms, but were upgraded in preperation for K56flex and whatever
the standard turned into. From memory our AS5200 was ordered 56k
capable and so it was a zero-cost upgrade if it happened before a cut
Mica modems with 220.127.116.11 firware and 113.9 oos work
well, Microcom modems
are so bad they are unusable on v90. Give me a call and I'll give you all
In the release notes for the 18.104.22.168 firmware it says:
Note Cisco MICA Portware Version 22.214.171.124 is not backward
compatible. You must be running V.110 and Cisco IOS 12.0(4)XI1,
12.0(5)T, or higher to use Cisco MICA version 126.96.36.199. If you are
using an earlier Cisco IOS release or are using V.90 or V.34, refer to
Release Notes for Cisco MICA Portware Version 188.8.131.52 on Cisco
Any ideas what gives there?
