For those who don't understand the terminology,
Ed's talking about pouring
roughly 15L/sec of cold, high-pressure water on said drunk students. Who,
presumably, won't stay drunk for long :P
I hade to be a pedant but... actually, no, If I'm going to start a
sentence with that I should be honest. I love being a pedant so..
Alcohol is the only drug eliminated by the human body in a linear,
rather than in a half life fashion...
As a rule of thumb, a person will eliminate one average drink or 15 ml
of alcohol per hour. To be unbelievably inane and pedantic though, an
individual's ability to eliminate alcohol quickly reduces with age, so
if the soaking carried on over a long period of time, you could expect
a slightly non-linear rate of elimination.
The hose would also presumably either dilute or knock over any alcohol
still being consumed, so that would help.
The main point is that soaking the aforementioned hackers (yes I
know!) with a high pressure hose won't really make them sober up in a
pharmacological sense, but it would be great fun.
