Dear PGSA Friends,
*Focus group invitation - Reminder *
Sarah-Jane Saravani (Associate University Librarian Teaching & Research
Services) is still looking for some doctoral students to be part of a focus
group. Here below is her message:
Dear Doctoral students
The Library is presently developing a self-assessment reflective tool that
will allow all new doctoral candidates to assess their knowledge and skills
around managing information. The purpose of the tool is to allow new HDR
students to be aware of their levels of competency and also to enable their
Subject Librarian to work with each student in tailoring a programme of
support based on the responses and appropriate to their requirements. Two
slightly different versions of the assessment tool have been created and,
as a HDR student, you are cordially invited to be part of a focus group to
review the tools and provide feedback on their content and suitability.
Sarah-Jane Saravani, from the Library, will provide all background to the
process and will be involved with the focus group. It will not be onerous
If you are interested in being part of this focus group please send an
email to Sarah-Jane at saravani(a)waikato.ac.nz by Wednesday 6th December.
Sarah-Jane will contact interested students with more information regarding
time and place.
There are no more scheduled events for 2017, so I take this occasion to
wish you all a happy summer break. The PGSA will re-start hosting meetings
and events in February, so I hope I will see you all in 2018 to start a
great new year together!
