*Student Learning Writing Retreat 11/`12 July 2019 *
Wanting to boost your writing productivity? Here is a fantastic
opportunity to get out of the cold and into action!
*Student Learning Writing Retreat *
*Date*: Thursday 11 July and Friday 12 July
*Time*: 9.00am to 4pm both days
*Venue*: University Lodge (on campus)
*Registration*: Email Andrea Haines via ash1(a)waikato.ac.nz
You are welcome to enroll for both days/ one day or part of a day.
The retreat provides you with an opportunity to focus on your writing in a
space free of the usual distractions that you might otherwise encounter in
your daily work space. The retreat is designed to provide a motivating,
supportive environment where you can concentrate on writing, connect with
others undertaking their own writing journeys, discover strategies for
overcoming writing blocks and receive feedback on your work if you wish.
Sharing of work is entirely voluntary – the main aim of the retreat is to
increase your productivity by giving you an opportunity to write
uninterrupted. Facilitators will be on hand to provide feedback on work
for those seeking this.
Students attending previous retreats have found the collegial atmosphere
motivating and the feedback on their writing really helpful. Others have
found that simply having the opportunity to write in a different space,
free of the usual interruptions, enabled them to accomplish a good amount
*What you need to bring to the retreat:*
Your laptop and the piece of writing/reading you are currently working on.
The venue has Wi Fi capability.
Morning/afternoon teas and lunch on both days are provided by Student
Hoping to see you there.
