Celebrate the end of O Week with a soothing Indian Classical Music Concert with Shri Rakesh Chaurasia (bansuri - Indian bamboo flute) & Basant Madhur (tabla).
Sunday 9 March 2014, 5:00pm
Academy of Performing Arts, Univ of Waikato, Hamilton

The Sargam School of Indian Classical Music proudly presents an evening of Indian Classical music with Shri Rakesh Chaurasia (bansuri) and Basant Madhur (tabla). Rakesh Chaurasia is the nephew and child prodigy of flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Amongst the promising musicians of the second generation, Rakesh has carved a niche for himself as an accomplished flautist. Incorporating the tradition of his renowned uncle and infusing his personal style, he has evolved a style which while maintaining the purity of the flute manages to capture the attention of the young listeners too.

Tickets: $30 (front rows), $20, available at the door.

Hope to see some of you there!,
