The retreat provides you with an opportunity to focus on your writing in a space free of the usual distractions that you might otherwise encounter in your daily workspace. The retreat is designed to provide a motivating, supportive environment where you can concentrate on writing or reading, connect with others undertaking their own postgraduate work, discover strategies for overcoming writing blocks, and receive feedback on your work if you wish. Sharing of work is entirely voluntary – the main aim of the retreat is to give you an opportunity to write uninterrupted.
Students attending previous retreats have found the collegial atmosphere motivating and the feedback on their writing really helpful. Others have found that simply having the opportunity to write in a different space, free of the usual interruptions, enabled them to accomplish a good amount of work.
What you need to bring to the retreat:
Some writing or reading you are currently working on and your laptop, tablet or notebook. The site has good Wi-Fi capability.
Morning/afternoon teas and lunch are provided on both days by Student Learning
We look forward to seeing you there!
