Hello everyone,

I hope everyone’s study is going well.

It was good to see so many of you (some with families) last month at the international pot luck dinner.  Our event for this month is called Research Speed Dating.  You'll have 3 minutes to tell your 'date' about your research topic, goals and challenges. There'll be several rounds so you can interact with as many people as possible.  The idea is to give you an opportunity for you to briefly speak about your research.  In addition, by interacting with many people you may find someone who has a similar research area to you, or is using a similar research methodology to you.  Date: 17 Sep (Thu), Time: 2-4 pm, Venue: WSU Level Zero.  To register please go to our Facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/pages/Postgraduate-Students-Association-University-of-Waikato/190497727661273

Our PGSA executive meeting on Thursday 24 September, 2 – 3 pm, in the library M.3.03.  Everyone is welcome.

On the same afternoon (Thursday 24 September) 3 – 4 pm we have our presentation series in room TT1.01.  Three-minute-thesis (3MT) is fast approaching.  This is an opportunity for you to practice in front of an audience.  If you would like to practice a presentation for any reason (including your 3MT presentation) please let me know.  (Email Christina.gera@wintec.ac.nz)

Any issues, any concerns, anything at all, please feel free to contact me

Hi everyone

This is a very friendly remind about our international pot luck dinner this Friday.  Please bring a plate of food to share and you could also dress up in something that represents your home country (f you wish).

To register please go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1558595161094325/

There will be a few staff speaking briefly to you about aspects of study (Andrea from Student Learning, Gwenda from Scholarships, Angela from the Postgraduate Studies office, and possibly someone from WSU).  This will also be an opportunity for you to meet and socialise with other fellow students.

It should be a fun evening.  Families are very welcome.

I look forward to seeing you.
