The New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse is Aotearoa New Zealands first national
centre for the collation and dissemination of information on family violence. The website
) of the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse includes searchable
electronic research databases, training and event information, community education fact
sheets, and useful links. There is also a regular newsletter, and a library service
The NZFVC is team is seeking published and unpublished articles, books, reports, theses,
papers, conference presentations, evaluations, community research projects, literature
reviews, and any other work related to family violence (including partner abuse in
different-sex or same-sex relationships, child abuse and neglect, elder abuse and neglect,
parental abuse and sibling abuse).
We are building a comprehensive annotated bibliographic database of family violence
research, and completing a research mapping and gaps analysis as part of the update the
1998 publication An Agenda for Family Violence Research in New Zealand (by Social Policy
Agency and Te Puni Kokiri).
The family violence research database will be available on line for anyone to access from
early next year, many items will be stored in a hard copy repository from which items may
be borrowed, and the research gaps analysis will assist future research design and funding
The NZFVC is undertaking to make New Zealand research readily available to New Zealand
researchers, practitioners and policy makers with the aim of contributing to the
prevention of family violence. We appreciate your help with this task.
Please send electronic and/or hard copies of completed research, or reference details, to
the address below. We would also like to hear about current or planned research and
