PGSA announces its new Postgraduate Presentations Series
Need to practice your presentation for an upcoming conference? Want some feedback? Just
want to let others in the PhD community know what you're working on? Or perhaps you
just want to try out some new ways of presenting?
If so, then come and join us once a month beginning this June, as we'll be hosting a
series of Postgraduate Presentations, by us and for us. Each month, we plan to have 2 PhD
students give presentations on any topic in a comfortable and friendly environment where
some can present and others listen, followed by a brief 10 minute question and answer
discussion on your thesis presentation.
Our first in the series will be held on Wednesday 12 June 2013 from 1:00-2:00pm. Room to
We're looking for 2 people willing to each give a 15-20 minute presentation each month
on a topic of their choice (hopefully something to do with your PhD Thesis!). If
you're interested in joining our Postgraduate Presentations Sessions, either as a
presenter or as a listener, please drop us a line at <pgsa(a)waikato.ac.nz>nz>.
We'll come up with a schedule, and we'll keep you informed of the upcoming
presentations as we work them out, but we need your help to fill in our available time
slots. Don't be shy!
All are invited, from each and every Faculty or School, so come and join us! Meet some
new people and get new perspectives and refreshing ideas on your topic. Bring your lunch,
and we'll provide the tea/coffee.
Hope to see some of you at our Postgraduate Presentations Series beginning this June!
