While running the SMO engine, the message about "Time taken to build model"
comes first followed by a cross-validation summary. For one of my sessions
I ran with 10-fold cross validation, the cross-validation phase was much
than time to build model.
My doubts/queries are the following:
1. What exactly is the model build time reported in SMO run? Is it the
preparation time of 10 models
based on 10 sets or something else?
2. When the engine enters cross-validation phase, is it just running the
test sets using the models
already created in the previous step? Or it is building the models one
by one and also running the
tests? If it is latter, what model we are building in previous step (1)?
Thanks for your time.
