Since I have access to the wlug admin interface, I have in the past,
discarded or let through various emails flagged as spam.
What I notice these days is no emails appear to captured and my emails
to the list, unless replying to other people, never appear for

Yes, we do.
The list server uses Postini to do spam detection, but leaves it up
Mailman to make discard and moderate decisions, so you can make it a
bit less aggressive by tweaking the header rules in each list's spam
