The main reason I'm not interested in a weekly geek-meet is that we already
have one! http://www.wlug.org.nz/GeekLunchOnWednesdays. We grab a few
tables at the Downtown Plaza foodcourt, grab a meal each of our choosing
(from the choice of about 6 outlets there) and then someone shouts icecream,
at a cost of about $12-$16. If the main problem in this is the lack of
curry, we could go to Centreplace instead where there's a Indian place (and
Subway for those who don't particularly care for curry.)

The list of rules that ensure no-one pays too much for TNC still makes the
cost almost $30/night/person! Kingfisher Strong is _twelve dollars?_ You
can get a dozen Rheineck at the supermarket for less than that! :)

I guess the only way to find out is to try.. hold one and see if it warrants
the holding of another one.

Otherwise, hope to see more of you on Wednesdays.

Craig

i'm really surprised no-one seems interested in this concept... the idea of
a weekly "geek-meet" (inc. friends if you like) over food and drink kind of
appeals to me... anyone else?

could be one way to get attendence up at committie meetings if nothing else
:)

cheers...
