I've been doing some tidying up of the Wiki (our web site) lately, with
reference to the comments about beginners being lost.
The home page has been rearranged so that it's (hopefully) a bit more
obvious where to start. The sidebar has been shrunk a bit too (thanks
Perry) so that the backlinks are more prominent. This way, you see not
only what the current page links to, but what other pages link to this
concept; a really good way to learn what connects to what in the world
I'd like to encourage anyone who thinks they qualify to look at
http://www.wlug.org.nz/NewToLinux, and add suggestions/hints/whatever
they need to get the information that you want to hear, on the wiki.
(People normally add what they learn, which is why there's a lot about
the newer things, but not as much about learning from the ground up,
because most of the regular authors did that many years ago.)
As a note, debates that are off topic for the mailing list might very
well be on topic on the Wiki; please remember however it is another
public face of the incorporated society so standard graces need apply.
